How often should I replace non-clumping crystal cat litter in a multi-cat home?

For single-cat households, the litter can last up to 30 days, but in multi-cat homes it’s best to replace it every 2 weeks to maintain odor control.

Why does non-clumping crystal litter track outside the box?

Fine crystal particles can cling to paws or fur, especially for long-haired cats. Using a high-sided box or litter mat can help reduce tracking.

Can non-clumping crystal litter be used in an automatic litter box?

It can work in some auto boxes if filled below the maximum line, but it performs best in manual boxes to avoid clogs or residue buildup.

Is crystal litter safe for cats with respiratory sensitivities?

Yes, it produces less dust than clay litter, but some dust may occur during pouring or stirring, so ventilation is recommended for sensitive cats.

What makes crystal litter different from clumping litter?

Crystal litter absorbs moisture rather than forming clumps, so you scoop only solids and stir the litter to distribute absorbed urine.

Do cats like the UV sparkle feature in crystal litter?

Many cats are intrigued by the sparkle, but it’s not essential for litter use. It’s designed as an extra visual element that’s safe and non-toxic and helps with going in the litter box.

Impressed Cats, Clean Box

So- I love Boxie Litter. Hands down- as do my two Korean Rescues. I accidentally purchased “GLO Crystal” as I was not paying attention. Well- my cats IMMEDIATELY took to the scent and feel of the new litter- I was impressed- and well beyond satisfied as to cleaning their litter box- true to its packaging: absorbs the liquid and controls odor. Highly recommend!
